Storrs is situated in NE Connecticut,
between New York City and Boston, MA. It is a charming small town
of quiet and beautiful rural surroundings (Mansfield Hollow Lake,
Horsebarn Hill, Coventry Lake, etc.) and lively student life at
the University of Connecticut's main campus. The surroundings are
particularly beautiful in October, when the leaves change color.
Despite its apparent remoteness, it is only 40 minutes away from
the state's capital, Hartford, 30 minutes from the beautiful port
of New London, and a mere 10 minutes from Willimantic, the hometown
of Eastern Connecticut State University.
While Storrs is easily accessible
by car, public transportation is limited. See information about
how to travel to Storrs here. There is
a fixed route bus service between Storrs and Willimantic that runs
about every hour between 6 am and 7 pm Monday to Friday. Saturday
service is limited and there is no service on Sunday:

Unless you are coming by car, we recommend
staying at the Nathan Hale Inn, located
on the University of Connecticut campus. Nathan Hale Inn also offers
food services. The following site offers a listing of local area
restaurants (thanks to Takuro Tanaka):
